Scholarship Deadline: Applications Must Be Submitted Online by June 15, 2023

The Scholarship Fund

Every lawyer remembers their initial beginnings in law school. In modern times, this memory is typically followed by the large sums of money needed to attend, which has left many in debt. Along with paying for school, future lawyers also need to prepare for the bar exam to receive a license to practice law. With the Judge Kathleen M. White Memorial Scholarship Fund, we hope to provide financial assistance to make it easier for students to pursue their education, while also encouraging their entrance into the field of law.

The scholarship will be awarded each year to the applicant or applicants who best exemplify the character, tenacity, and compassion to make a lasting impact in the field of family law, as personified by the Honorable Kathleen M. White, former judge of the Superior Court of California in Yolo County, who made a lasting difference as a family court judge before retiring in 2018, and passing away in 2022.

Our 2023 Judge Kathleen M. White Memorial Scholarship Fund awards a $4,000 scholarship to any student entering their second, third, or fourth year of law school, who shows a demonstrable interest in practicing family law upon graduation. Special consideration will be provided to those who plan to do so in communities where family law assistance is more difficult to find. For these future lawyers, this scholarship fund assists with any academic expenses one may encounter while in the pursuit of their law license as they navigate higher education opportunities. The deadline for the scholarship is June 15, 2023, in time for the Fall 2023 school year.
